Beneath the surface SYNOPSIS:
From the exterior the world of cruising appears glamorous: sparkling white ships, guests living the brochure dream and a crew willing to attend to the guest’s every whim.
The reality is entirely different.

My original intention was to keep a diary of my experiences working for one of the world’s most prestigious cruise lines in the world. During the first contract I had no idea I was going to witness a world of horror beneath the surface. Attempted rapes, drugs smuggling, ridiculous working hours and extreme hierarchal divisions. What’s more on the way to Antarctica the ship was hit by a massive wave that destroyed three staterooms with guests sleeping inside. This diary is an honest portrayal of the highs and lows of ship life and what takes place beneath the surface.
